Looking after the garden,
-Start with paving, get a blower for the leaves, re seal after about 3 years is exspected. Sealers are only a time saver, meaning you normally have 3-10 hrs to clean up stains, depending on the acidity. they are not seal & forget products. Stop ants as soon as possible, If you have eucalyptus leaves falling on your pavers, the mildly acid tannins can stain pavers including the non staining porcelain.
Soil nutrients, over time the nutrients in your soil are used up by the plants & microbes, keep feeding with lots of manure & liguid fertiliser for fruit trees & vegies, natives like to be starved but love mulch.
Reticulation, check & re check, or is that just me, i fertilise through my reticulation ( fertigation ) some of my home made organic seasol dose'nt get fully dissolved beforehand ( i dont have enough time to pre mix as i should ) along with sand from my bore i get quite a few blocked sprinklers. But the effort is rewarding.
Mulching, if you can i reconmend tree lopper mulch, black mulch looks good as long as it has big woody chunks. Remember Mulch is King, Soil is Queen
Quick summary, More microbes from natural fertiliser equals more growth. Apply lots of manure ( not on natives ) Lots of mulch. At least 10 mm of water from each retic cycle. Listen to the birds, watch the bees in the flowers, watch butterflies & dragon flies hovering over the grass with a cold beer. Now thats living.
